Pirates of Penzance

Pirates, policemen, petticoats and patter song…Pick Me Up Theatre brings you the lot – in a steam punk package!
The Pirates of Penzance is our first foray into the topsy turvy world of Gilbert and Sullivan and we plan to have some fun with this classic comedy operetta.
Most people will know the songs – I am the very model of a model Major-General has been parodied to include everyone from Donald Trump to Despicable Me’s Minions – and everyone sings along to A Policeman’s lot is not a happy one!
Great tunes, a wonderfully daft plot and a stage full of swashbuckling pirates and corseted lovelies a la Jules Verne – who could resist?
Full cast to be announced but we can tell you Sam Hird will be heading back up from the Royal College of Music and we have our wonderful Pick Me Up favourites Alexandra Mather, Emma Louise Dickinson, Andrew Roberts, Finn East, Frankie Bounds, Flo Poskitt, Andrew Isherwood, Niamh Rose and Matthew Kitchen. We welcome superb York talents Ed Atkin, Kayleigh Oliver, Nick Sephton, Ryan Smith and Tim Selman.
