Theatre@41 isn't just about the shows. We're also home to a number of performing arts classes, covering different elements of acting, dance, singing and other theatre skills. We're delighted to welcome children, young people and adults from across York to develop skills, build confidence - and have fun!

Crafty Tales by Storycraft Theatre

Every Thursday at 10.00am, theatre-makers Janet-Emily Bruce and Cassie Vallance of Story Craft Theatre present their award-winning class, Crafty Tales, with autumn 2021’s theme being ‘Fairytales’

 

Each class begins with games, followed by craft making (all materials provided), an interactive adventure and the class finishes by reading the book together. 

 

Crafty Tales is aimed at 2-5 year olds, and helps to grow confidence, language and social skills, as your children discover a wider world through story. 

 

Cost: £6.50 per child (Babes in arms are free)

York Stage School

York Stage School exists to develop confidence and technique in performers of all ages and abilities. Specialising in Acting, Singing and Musical Theatre, the school is taught by fully trained industry professionals, lead by Principal Nik Briggs.

 

Through weekly term-time classes, short courses, master classes and holiday workshops, they aim to provide the training children and adults need to develop as actors, singers and overall performers.
