Join our board
Do you have experience of either charity governance or fundraising? Are you interested and excited by the performing arts? Could you help our theatre continue to grow and be a space that supports new performance and community engagement?
We are seeking a new trustee, ideally, with several years’ experience of charity governance and regulation, fundraising, or business development. This is a great opportunity to develop your experience as a trustee with a small, dynamic organisation and a proactive board, with the chance to make a real difference to our work and the services we provide.
As an organisation run entirely by volunteers, our board is quite hands-on and you would be expected to lead on key areas of organisational development. The trustees meet on a monthly basis, with some work over digital channels and at the theatre in between these meetings. We are conscious that trustees are giving up their spare time so would have an open conversation with any potential appointee about what would be realistic in terms of commitment.
Our goal is to be representative of the community we work in and so we are keen to hear from candidates from a range of backgrounds, particularly those currently under-represented within the theatre industry. Due to the need for trustees to be present at the theatre from time to time, you should be based in or near York.
If you are interested in applying, please send your CV and a brief covering letter explaining why you would like to be a trustee to our Chair, Alan Park at alan.park@41monkgate.co.uk. Applications close on Friday 15th April. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
